3 Awesome Albanian Food Blogs You Should Follow!

This might surprise many people but not only do I love to eat food, I love to make it, too! Here are some of the blogs I follow religiously for my #FoodInspo that have been created right here in Albania.

  1. Kikiliciouss

This young, entrepreneurial Albanian girl grew up in a “Foodies” household and cooking is pretty much in her blood. Whether you love to cook or just love to eat, Kikiliciouss’s blog has something for you, mixing recipes with lifestyle and travel.

The website is well organised, making it really easy to navigate. For those of you with a sweet tooth, there are a LOT of dessert recipes available. One of the best things is that they provide both an Albanian and English version of the website, so it’s a great way for foreigners to learn how to make some traditional dishes, too.

It should also be noted that the photography skills are ON POINT!

2. Arti Gatimit

I really am a sucker for a well organised website and this is certainly that. There is a LOT of content here for your perusal and both English and Albanian articles are available. There’s recipes galore here and you will find a mix of traditional (such as moussaka with white cabbage) and modern (like avocadoes stuffed with prawns). I highly recommend their recipe for the typical Albanian holiday dessert “kadaif”!

They even have a youtube channel with video instructions (in Albanian) and just some great general #FoodPorn. Get onto it!

Mandarina Yum

3. Mandarina Yum

This recipe blog (and beautiful Instagram!) is a delight, with a great mix of recipes easily sorted into categories. Given that I work such long hours, I generally head straight to the “Fast & Easy” section to pick up some new inspiration for my kitchen. I also love the recipe for Japrak!

The girl behind the keyboard is Erjona, who only began cooking once she was alone in the big bad world without Mummy to do it for her (don’t we all miss those days of Mum’s homecooked meals!?). In her own words, “Before that I couldn’t even boil an egg by myself.” She developed herself into a refined food artist and her passion comes through in her content. And the photos! If you weren’t hungry before, be prepared, you will be after scrolling through this InstaFeed.
