Zafferano

I don’t know if this is, like, a thing that ‘normal’ people do, but I spend an awful lot of time searching for new venues by exploring Google Maps in intense detail – and it was using this method that I came across this little gem! Tucked away in a corner without a lot of curb-appeal, it’s a restaurant that’s pretty easy to miss if you’re walking by, but you are truly missing-out if you do!

Serving up traditional Albanian fare through their rotations of daily pre-prepared specials, alongside made-to-order pastas and risottos personalised to your tastes, this might be food you can find in many places, but I’m telling you it’s definitely not always this delicious!

Personally, I’ve tried a LOT of tave dheu in my time in this country, as it is one of my preferred dishes (and I especially love to eat it when I’m hungover, or as comfort food… so fairly often.) This is definitely up there with “The Best”. It’s not the prettiest dish, but they still managed to present it beautifully, too, only further adding to my good impressions.

Within a week of discovering this place, I had already eaten there twice because the food is that good and with a changing menu, it’s easy to enjoy a variety of dishes here without getting bored. I also love that there is such easy parking nearby!

Furthermore, the service is excellent! The daily dishes are explained with enthusiasm, suggestions and recommendations come with a smile and they’re attentive and fast, making this a particularly good option for people who are working in the area and need a quick fix on their lunch break.

Of course, the best part is that the bill at the end displays perfectly reasonable prices – in fact, I’d even go as far as saying everything is good value, especially for the quality. Yep, the secret is out now – Zafferano offers great local food at great prices. Check it out for yourself!
